In that day…a blessing in the midst of the earth!

Neighbors can be challenging. Whether it’s bizarre activity, or a determination to disturb your peace, or disputes over property lines and “Who is responsible” for this or that, or a whole host of other things neighbors get snarled up in with one another, neighbors can be folks that try our souls. But as you think about your difficult neighbors and the troubles they bring into your lives, imagine if the Lord made known to you that your neighbor was going to come to Christ one day, and in that day, your relationship with your neighbor would be transformed into something very good! If that were so (and in Christ, we hope for such things), would this change the way you relate to your neighbor now? One way to look at Isaiah 19:16-25 is as a passage about difficult neighbors and the work God is going to do in the neighborhood in the future to totally change the bitter dynamic of relationships between Israel and her neighbors. It will be amazing and surprising, maybe even shocking to some! In that day when Christ establishes His everlasting kingdom, He will, at last, bring true and everlasting peace between Israel and her enemies. But how will He do this and how does this future work of Christ affect us now?

We invite you to come join us this Sunday morning for our in-person worship service at Leptondale Bible Church in Newburgh, starting at 10:55 AM. For those unable to attend, our service can be viewed live on the church’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/leptondalebiblechurch. This Sunday, we’ll continue a series from Isaiah titled “In That Day: The Kingdom in Isaiah.” This Sunday’s message from Isaiah 19:16-25 is titled “In that day…a blessing in the midst of the earth!”

God bless!

Pastor Mike
