Cooper Home Bible Study

To capture the Cooper home bible study in one word it would have to be "Family". A family who fellowships together, praises the Lord through song together, studies the Word together, and prays together. Not to mention the many laughs!  We start our evening with food and fellowship. As Fran recently stated, "Food is our love language". You never know what you are going to get as it is potluck. Sometimes it feels like dinner. Other times it feels like dessert.

Rob keeps us on track with our time for songs starting promptly at 7 pm. He always has a few ready to choose from but is happy to take requests. "The Goodness of God" seems to be a group favorite. Charlie keeps our fire going as we meet. Steve leads us through the study. His thoughtful preparation guides us to a deeper understanding of the Word and thought provoking discussion. We close our time together with prayer. Prayer requests and what is on our hearts is shared and cared for with compassion and understanding. It's a wonderful feeling to know that these dear brothers and sisters in Christ are praying for you!

Not a group to shy away from a celebration we enjoy sharing our gratitude at our Thanksgiving gathering, joy at our Christmas party and rest and relaxation at our summer barbecue. We come together to celebrate together because that's what families do!

Himmelberger Home Bible Study

Our Bible study is an intimate group of Christians that support each other in not only study but also with prayers and actions. Art Himmelberger leads our group which meets on a Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at the various homes of our group members.

We begin our evening study with a brief time of gathering. We open our evening with prayer to understand God’s word and then, proceed with a study of a book of the Bible. Currently we are studying the Gospel of John, which has proven to be very insightful and inspiring. We close our study at 7:30 when our group continues, taking prayer requests and praises. We close with light refreshments and take time to socialize with our family of believers. Occasionally, we have a pot luck meal together.

We look forward to meeting every week and learning about God’s word. Our discussions can range from deep analysis to finding humor in the scripture. This is a time for us to not only study the Bible but also spend time with our Christian brothers and sisters whom we love. We welcome you to join us if this interests you. Our God is an awesome God, and we would love to share Him with you.

Men’s Wednesday Morning Bible Study

We are looking for a few good men. Please let us know if you find any (lol)!! All kidding aside, we meet at the church on Wednesday mornings from 7:30-9:00 and then follow up with breakfast at Perkins, a local restaurant about 3 miles from the church.

God has brought an awesome group of men together for this study as He leads us as a group to teach one another to learn and grow together in our life in Christ. We are a close-knit group that is also a very welcoming group. The Lord continues to add to our number and newcomers always feel like part of the family from day-one.

We begin our time together in prayer followed by a time of study led by pastor Mike. And when we get to the restaurant, the staff at Perkins treats us like family. In fact, our wonderful waitress Linda calls us “My boys!” Come be part of the amazing spiritual growth journey the Lord is leading “Linda’s boys” along by His amazing grace!

O’Dowd Home Thursday Night Bible Study

Hey, this is Pastor Mike! My wife Lucia and I host and lead the Thursday night home bible study that meets in our home in the town of Newburgh. We meet from 6:30 – 8:00 PM in the intimate setting of our dining room. As I often tell the congregation, the Lord does wonderful things when His people gather around a table! And when you come, just come on in! No need to knock or ring the bell because you’re family! One family member you’ll come to know well is our pet Basset Hound Auggie. Thursday night is Auggie’s favorite night. For him, it’s “Peeps Night” because that’s when his “peeps” come over!

We usually begin with some socializing, catching up on how everyone is doing, and then we have a time of sharing our praises and prayer requests. Bobby leads in this time, and he always takes what we share and lifts it up to the Lord in a way that ministers to everyone. We then spend the rest of our time in Bible Study accompanied with some light refreshments. We normally study a book of the bible like we’re doing right now. We’re currently going through the book of Acts, and it’s been awesome every step of the way as the Holy Spirit leads and teaches us faithfully, every week. If this interests you, then we look forward to seeing you!
