Sunday Worship Service at
Leptondale Bible Church
At Leptondale, worship is an intimate family occasion! We strive, by God’s grace, to enter into worship through a service thematically arranged around the truth of God’s word in a way that is pleasing to Him. We do so through music, prayer, giving, the public reading of His word, and the expository preaching of His word. We also observe Communion the first Sunday of each month as well as baptism for those believers in our church family who seek it out of obedience to the Lord.
Our Sunday worship service begins at 10:55 with a 5-minute prelude as a time to prepare our hearts for worship and the service typically concludes at 12:15. But if you join us on a Sunday, don’t expect the experience to end at the end of the service! As we like to say, “We’re that Hudson Valley church that has an after party!” Many in our church family choose to remain in the sanctuary for some time after the service as a continued time of fellowship. If you need to head out after the service, we understand, but feel free to hang around!
One more thing though. Our worship service has several teams that make our service possible, and the volunteers that serve in these teams make up more than a third of the congregation! If you have the time, keep scrolling so you can meet our worship ministry teams.
God bless!
-Pastor Mike
Ushers
Welcome to Leptondale Bible Church, my name is Thom Baker. Whether you come up the stairs/elevator from fellowship time (10:30-10:55) or enter through the front doors, you will see me or one of the other ushers giving out church bulletins and hearty hellos. (To help with identification, we wear name tags, jackets and ties.) We will help to direct you to whoever you are joining or to a seat where you will feel comfortable. As ushers we help out answering your questions about where and what. I really appreciate learning your name so I can greet you and welcome you back the next time you join us. If you have trouble with hearing, we have hearing assist radios with ear pieces so you can adjust the volume from the microphones to what works best for you. We don’t want you to miss out!
Audiovisual
Good Morning!
The AV team welcomes you to our morning service. We hope you’ll really enjoy worshipping God with us this morning. Please walk in find a seat and relax in the quietness before worship. If, perhaps, you need some hearing assistance that is available just to the right as you enter the auditorium. We’re excited that you’re with us today and we are already at work making sure that your worship experience is without interruption. We hope to serve you and our Lord well so that nothing interferes with God’s message to you through the music, prayer and the spoken word. To paraphrase a common saying, we would rather not be seen or heard. Perhaps we’ll have a chance to meet later. Enjoy the service!
Communion and Baptism
Baptism and Communion are a very important part of the spiritual life of our church. Our Lord Jesus commanded the church to baptize believers as the very first command to the believer and He commanded the church to faithfully keep the Lord’s Supper as often as we do in remembrance of Him, proclaiming His death until He comes. In Baptism and Communion, we hold fast in our faith and practice in common bond with the church from its inception some 2000 years ago!
At Leptondale, the church family keeps Communion the first Sunday of each month as our family of intimate believers gather together to celebrate our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and if you have placed your faith and trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we invite you to partake with us. We also practice believers baptism by immersion during our worship service for those who have trusted in Christ and seek to keep His command to be baptized. And in both Communion and in Baptism, we have a faithful team of folks that support these works of ministry behind the scenes, making every preparation, and seeing to every need for those who come to be baptized.
Decorations
Hi, I’m Norma and I lead our worship decorations ministry as we seek to aesthetically support our worship ministry. We believe that the Lord’s house should be welcoming and pleasant to those entering the doors. We seek to present uplifting yet peaceful decor to bend hearts towards worship and fellowship. There are several teams that help throughout the year to bring that about, Christmas and Easter being our major times requiring many hands. Here are several pictures included that will help you to see better who we are. Hope you choose to come and visit us!
Music
When you come to worship together with us on Sunday mornings, come prepared to make a joyful noise to the Lord! Our sanctuary is acoustically well-suited for congregational singing and the sound of the whole congregation singing together is a beautiful sound! By the way, selecting music that is suitable for congregational singing (i.e., easy to learn if you don’t know it and easy to sing) is one of the things we strive to bring into worship through song. Another focus in our song selection is to select songs with meaningful and sound theological content, and as much as possible, to have the message of our music complement the message of the sermon. We have two music teams that alternate Sundays and if you’re inclined, we would love for you to join one of our teams or even start a third team if you feel led to do so. We look forward to meeting you and singing together with you when you come!
