Women’s Ministry

Women in the Word

Wednesdays from 9:15-11:30 AM

Women in the Word is a weekly ladies Bible study that meets Wednesday mornings (9:15-11:30am) from the end of September through May, ending just before Memorial Day. We meet in the auditorium, and childcare is provided downstairs. Now in its 30th year, it remains strong as the 5 goals (praying, growing, serving, sharing, caring) are pursued diligently.

Women share their praises and concerns and pray together around their tables each Wednesday, in addition to praying for each other throughout the week. Ladies dive deep into Scripture as we typically utilize a video-driven study with a 5-day weekly homework format, alternating our weeks between videos and workbook discussions.

Good food is shared as we take turns providing refreshments. We also pitch in to support a Compassion sponsored child. We send cards for those needing encouragement and provide Gideon Bibles in remembrance of our loved ones. Our Christmas Brunch and Closing Spring Tea Luncheon are always anticipated blessed times of sharing a meal and a special program.

You will find an authentic love among these women, a genuine desire to grow in their walk of faith, and fervent prayers offered regularly. Glory to God for His Spirit’s work!

Kathy Baker heads up this ministry and shares the teaching responsibilities with Lucia O’Dowd, Mary Daggett, and Mary Moglia. We are grateful for the continued support and input from Marcella Baker, Val Gardner, and Toni Lewis in leading this group.
